Anja Johansen er utdannet kunsthistoriker fra NTNU, med masteroppgaven «Den postmoderne kroppen: mellom teknologi og mytologi». Hun er frilans skribent og kunstformidler bosatt i Trondheim. Billedkunst og Babel (Lademoen kunstnerverksteders visningsrom for kunst) er blant hennes arbeidsgivere. Hun er medredaktør for boken «GENERATOR ? 9 kunstinngrep i Trondheims offentlige rom».
