New York-based Dispatch Bureau was in 2007 founded by Howie Chen and Gabrielle Giattino as a curatorial office and project space where exhibitions, publications and concepts are originated in a time-flexible, mobile and independent matter.
Chen and Giattino both have backgrounds in more traditional institutions (Whitney Museum and the Swiss Institute), and with Dispatch they seek to offer a curatorial platform for a more mobile, efficient and critical way of presenting and working with exhibition making as well as with editorial work and publications.
In Copenhagen independent curator Tim Saltarelli and Howie Chen from Dispatch presents the exhibition I don’t know if it makes any sense – I feel quite dizzy and a little drunk due to the blow. I will return with more info shortly… featuring 26 New York-based artists, several showing in Denmark for the first time.
Howie Chen & Tim Saltarelli explain in the interview how Dispatch Bureau are reflecting and mirroring working methods from other fields – like that of a taxi office.
